Over the last two years I have been working with Ivan Cutting (Artistic Director/CEO at Eastern Angles) and folk musician Jimmy Aldridge on the Booming Voices theatre project. Jimmy and I have conducted 20 interviews with people (aged 14 – 83) who live and work on the Broads, and Jimmy has composed five beautiful songs. This material has been edited and then interwoven with a fictional story of a young girl house-sitting on the Norfolk Broads written by Ivan. The project is supported by: the Broads Authority ; Water, Mills & Marshes ; the National Lottery Heritage Fund ; and Arts Council England. Eastern Angles open the production at the John Peel Centre in Stowmarket on the 27th April 2022. It’s been a long time in the making!
